- Abstract
In this paper, we describe a knowledge acquisition agent,
which constructs probabilistic knowledge from statements written in
Internet Web-pages. This agent has two functions as follows :
(1) constructing probabilistic knowledge from statements written in
Web-pages, and (2) gathering Web-pages from the Internet in order to
use them for the knowledge construction.
This paper particularly focuses on the gathering function of the agent.
This gathering function has a strategy that makes agent access the
Internet previously in order to decrease uncertainty in the Internet and
to make gathering-plan accurately.
A metric for evaluating the strategy is introduced and
the strategy is evaluated by using this metric.
