Shine
This is a research on methodology of building socialware.
We investigate data, data structure, user inferfaces, communication
protocols, and program controll mechanisms that are common to vairous
socialware applications, and consequently provide a
design guideline in developing socialware
applications. In particular, we focus on realizing socialware as
multi-agent systems, in which distrubuted clients cooperate, rather
than conventional client-server systems.
In addition, we are developing a platform named Shine, which
is intended to be an infrastructure for developing applications
following our design methodology. Being built on the
common platform Shine, an application can
- cooperate with other applications by sharing data;
- share or reuse program components in developing; and
- get to have a multi-agent architcutre.

Software
The Shine platform is implemented in Java and is provided
as a Java class library. Unfortunately, we are not ready to
release any product to public. Shine is still in the stage of
prototyping.
