Research Topics since Joining NTT
In 1987, I began to work at Communication and Information Processing
Laboratories, NTT for Japanese-to-English machine translation project, ALT-J/E.
Since I attend to NTT, I am mainly researching contextual processing of
Japanese texts, especially resolution of Japanese zero pronouns in
Japanese-to-English machine translation system. I am also investigating the
strategy of automatic acquisition of transfer rules in Japanese-to-English
machine translation system using bilingual corpora, the semantic attribute
system of Japanese verbs, speech-to-speech machine translation and linguistic resources
for natural language understanding.
