Genetic algorithm (GA) is a computational technique which is motivated by natural selection in evolution process. It is a useful iterative search technique to find good solutions to hard combinational optimization problems. I am working on an application of GA to an employee scheduling problem which occurs in customer service operations at a telephone-number information center.
Two chaotic dynamical systems can evolve in time identically if appropriate couplings between the two systems are introduced. This chaotic synchronization has a possible application to secure communication systems. It is possible to transmit information signals using a chaotic signal and extract the information signals by using the chaotic synchronization at the receiver. The information signals can be protected from eavesdroppers in such communication systems because a chaotic signal is stochastic and eavesdroppers who do not know the parameters of the transmitter and receiver chaotic dynamical systems can not reproduce the chaotic signal and then extract the information signals. Currently, I am working on a secure communication system via chaotic synchronization which can transmit multichannel binary messages with a scalar transmitted chaotic signal.
