What's new

Greeting from the Managing Director

Welcome to Open House 2016

I sincerely thank you for coming to NTT Communication Science Laboratories Open House 2016.

In recent years, technological developments related to artificial intelligence (AI) have been advancing rapidly. Mechanisms that move the world are undergoing major transformations. To invest appropriately in the future, we must understand precisely the technological foundations of AI and its hidden possibilities.

At NTT Communication Science Laboratories, we seek to make NTT Group’s AI technology corevo™ the core technology. We are engaged in two kinds of fundamental research. The first kind is research to create the future. We are leading the world in preparing for a new era by developing technologies that will bear fruit five to ten years later and by accumulating knowledge. The second kind is research that addresses the needs of today. We are utilizing the technologies and knowledge we have cultivated to tackle the societal challenges directly confronting us now.

Open House 2016 will introduce NTT Communication Science Laboratories’ wide-ranging research achievements in four areas: “Science of Machine Learning,” “Science of Computation and Language,” “Science of Media Information,” and “Science of Human and Communication.” Although the event is a modest two-day affair, we are confident that all visitors will have an enjoyable and rewarding time.
