Motion aftereffect by bandpass random-dot kinematogram
- Here are movies of random-dot patterns whose spatial frequency is bandpass filterered to 1 octave.
- Click to start the upper movie. Observe the motion for about 10 sec with keeping fixation at the center dot .
- Click again to stop motion. You may see an illusory backward movement of the stationary pattern. This illusion is known as the motion aftereffect.
- Next, test the lower movie. The displacement step is slightly larger in this movie than in the upper one. The motion aftereffect is seen in the direction same as the adapting motion.
