Research Interests
He specializes in embodied communication technologies and methodologies for cultivating well-being.
He received a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from the University of Tokyo in 2005.
His research focuses on human haptic perception, communication, and information transmission from the perspective of how empathy and trust between individuals can be fostered.
His work aims to develop practical approaches to realizing well-being through embodied and relational experiences.
He serve as a board member of the Japanese Society of Well-being (2025-) and as Executive Chair of the Well-being Technology Exhibition (2024-).
In addition, He is actively engaged in well-being education, with a focus on the development of well-being competencies.
He is the author and editor of several books on haptics and well-being, including "Tactility: the intelligence of touch that generates information" (2014), "How to creating well-being" (2023), "Cards for collectivewell-being" (2024), and "Well-being competencies" (2025).
