Since the founding of NTT Communication Science Laboratories (CS Labs), we have been developing fundamental theories exploring the essence of human beings and information and creating innovative technologies that can drive social change, all with the aim of achieving “heart-touching communication” between people and between people and computers. In this talk, I will introduce some of our recent activities in research that we have been cultivating at CS Labs up until now from the viewpoint of “deciphering people and society and the world.” Specifically, I will talk about research centered about human science “to deepen our understanding of human beings” and research related to media processing and artificial intelligence (AI) that “exceed human abilities.”
