Today, technologies related to large language models (LLMs) and generative AI are rapidly advancing and taking on the form of commodities, and not a day goes by without noticing a related topic in newspapers or news sites including business applications of these technologies. However, as these AI technologies become more sophisticated, people-oriented technologies will become more important, such as understanding the nature of diversity in all of us as human beings and methods for appropriately selecting and presenting information based on that diversity and individual characteristics.
At NTT Communication Science Laboratories (CS Labs), we are engaged in the pursuit of science that deepens our understanding of human beings and in fundamental research for innovative technologies that surpass human abilities. Our goal is to achieve “heart-touching communication” between people of different values, between people and machines, and between people and society.
Open House 2024 will be held onsite for an extra day than usual at QUINTBRIDGE, an open innovation facility operated by NTT West in Kyobashi, Osaka, the same as last year, and at the adjacent PRISM facility. Visitors will be able to experience the latest research from CS Labs through research talks, exhibits and demonstrations. We hope that this Open House will become a forum where we can all talk about the communication of the future.
