Empathy and social bonds are essential for maintaining wellbeing—a state of physical, mental, and social fulfillment. How can empathy and social bonds be effectively nurtured? What forms of information exchange are crucial for fostering and deepening empathy and social bonds? We focus on the role of interactions through bodily information in fostering empathy and social bonds, and examine the manner by which empathy emerges. We investigate these processes and provide practical insights into how body-mediated interactions can be applied to remote communication to support empathy and social bonds among physically separated family members.
